Samuel works hard - not for himself, but for Hanna, the one thing that matters to him. He goes so far as to pledge his entire existence to the Clockmaker. Samuel thinks he has taken care of everything, but this illusion is shattered when he realizes that the clockmaker has other plans. There is only one thing he can do to keep him from calling time on his great love: steal Hanna's 'life clock'. In a last-ditch attempt, he takes his unsuspecting wife and flees. Yet try as he might to shield her from the problems surrounding them, she gradually comes to suspect the truth. Torn between Hannah's wishes and his own urge to protect her, he is forced to come to a final decision.
