Salma, a famous Iraqi dinger, is forced to leave her native country. She ends up in an asylum centre in Belgium, Europe. She still conducts herself as a diva, but when she meets Hassan, a young Iraqi refugee, she gets confronted with the reality of things. Her beautiful voice that protected and elevated her above the reality in Iraq all those years gets shattered. Salma's life floats now between the real life in the asylum centre and her imaginary poetic thoughts in the deserts of Iraq.
