Practically robbed of their proper names, the title characters of this film flee from their small town and from the epithets that they have chosen or, conversely, that have been imposed upon them. On their respective journeys, their morality, tenacity and integrity are tested, so much so that they succeed in defying the stigma of their names, or arduously succumbing to self-fulfilling prophecies.
