The story of an old man, Hilmar Hoffmann, who has done and achieved a lot for German culture. He has been one of the most prominent cultural politicians in Germany, is the founder of the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen and former president of the Goethe-Institute. The film tries to get to his core, to be close to the old man and also learn from him.
