Sottoripa

Sottoripa (2013)

The memories of a poet, a foreigner, who used to live in the maze of Genoa alleys , bring us to his first period in the city; when he took a room in the meanest zone of the town... The director found 'Sottoripa' for case, in an old book, during a walk in the boardwalk of Genoa. Then he met the author, Julian Stannard. Together, they started to imagine how to bring to life the poem again. 'Sottoripa' is a trip in the Genoa's memories and secrets, that are still hidden in the decadent walls of the historical downtown, the edges of the taverns and the eyes of the port beacon. We will unearth them thanks to the reinterpretation of lost pictures and old rare movies about Genoa, collected on the Territory during two month of relentless research. Let's take a ride in the 'carruggi'.
